As Peter Drucker said, "The objective of any business is to create a customer". Based on this, my product management philosophy is rooted in the belief that true market differentiation comes from the closest alignment with what the paying customer will actually use and value.
The emphasis here on the paying customer, and not just a user or consumer, is deliberate, as there is no sustainable market position without a genuine value exchange. This ideally takes the form of a direct cash transaction, or otherwise a tangible transfer of value that will eventually convert to revenue.
