Painting, dance, music, writing. I’ve read and heard of these things being described as artistic expression. Said in a way that simply just doing the act qualified them. But expression of what? Any of these acts could be merely colour sprayed across a wall as a result of an epileptic seizure, is that still art?

Painting, especially the modern abstract kind, or jazz in music and dance, are to me the closest to true expression over any other structured methodical art form.

Mostly because you can’t really change or add to them once they are done, but also because they are difficult, if not impossible to understand by most people. To me they are
