How can she explain what’s going on to a 10 year old when she’s not quite sure herself?
Her mind has been working overtime for the past few days. Trying not to imagine all of the worst case scenarios so she doesn’t start to panic, but at the same time knowing that they’d need to deal with it sooner or later. A problem for another day perhaps. For now they had to concentrate on food and shelter. Basic survival.

He rolls his eyes as he turns away and almost stamps his feet with each protesting footstep towards the car door. Then slams the door shut after he climbs inside and drops his
