Steve puts the notepad down and takes Dylan’s hand, gripping it tightly and holding it up to his chest. He wants to show him what being strong is but he can see that he doesn’t get it yet. He is just a kid after all, and he’d need to learn a few things if he was going to survive. The boy continues to cry and Steve realises that strength was not going to solve this right now. The boy needed to feel safe and he slowly wraps his arms around him bringing his face into his chest to comfort him. Sobs of tears come flowing out as he finally lets out the tension that was trapped up inside of him for the last few weeks. Steve takes the notepad again and writes quickly, then shows it to him.
