They don’t last very long however and after their initial progress against the drones, aided by a few silenced shots from Steve, are overwhelmed by a second much larger group attacking from the rear.

Steve pulls away, realising he would only draw attention to their position by helping them more, and watches as Brian’s wife tries to hide as fear grips her. The old man looks equally as shocked but can’t stop looking as he witnesses a gang of people he once knew attack and kill each other in cold blood.

When he finally turns away, after the new recruits have been added to the gangs, he notices his wife cowering in fear and kneels to face her. Their foreheads press together and he holds his hands over her ears to block out the sounds.
