He has a full bag between his teeth and a large bottle of water under his arm, the long mystery object hanging by a strap in the bundle of gear. At the top he drops the supplies and then himself in an equal slump, his mind finally realising what he’d just risked. He didn’t care though, they had food now - and a rifle!

Brian and Sarah pull the ladder up and run to where he kneels, congratulating him on a successful hunt. Brian gestures that he give him the rifle to examine as Sarah hugs him from the side. Her arms around his neck as she whispers in his ear through a smile and tears: Thank you Tommy!

The bag is full of sandwiches and baguettes from the fridge and also a few soggy tubs of Ben & Jerry’s Ice
