Keeping the shotgun ready he nicks the cheek with the edge of the blade to try to get a response…. Again, nothing. A slight flinch maybe, which was more of a readjustment of the head to face forward again, but no other reaction at all. The same unfocused look, the same fast, shallow breathing as before.

This is weird. No reaction to protect himself against harm… That’s not natural… I don’t know what the hell about any of this is natural actually, but this is more than strange. Like he is drugged or something. That’s the only time I’ve ever seen this kind of thing before.
