In a separate room the Colonel turns back towards Rob and waits for him to close the door.

Colonel: This is a disaster.

Rob: What do you know?

Colonel: This was a concern for a while. We knew they were talking, that there were moves between them to run war games and cross train troops. But it just seemed like a public display to counter NATO as we moved closer to their borders.

They never seemed to be exactly compatible, as military units or as a political alliance, even now it’s strange how coordinated they are, if that report is accurate.

Rob: So… do you think this was planned?

Colonel: No, not at all.
