He notices that every train of thought seems to drift back to that one event in his life and skips forward to another section as he tries to put it out of his head. But them stops as it’s more of the same. He slams the book closed suddenly and his eyes along with it:

Steve: Enough! I’ve no time to deal with this now.

These memories were a lot to reabsorb, and he puts the notebook away, back into the leg pocket of his combat fatigues, and stands up tall on the rooftop, looking out over the warzone of a town. For a moment he doesn’t care if he is seen or how strong the wind blows. He needed to get his mind focused on something else, something he could attack with a plan.
