I saw people as just another animal, fair game on the safari of life.

He crawls out, careful to avoid the broken glass and stands to look around. The thing that he worried most about while out in the open are the flashbacks. He knows he needs to get them under control somehow. If one happened at the wrong time it be his undoing. And just then as he attempts to figure out how to control them, he has another one:

He finds himself now standing outside the door of the chemist he remembered waking up in, and looks around with the feeling that something was missing. An immediate threat to his existence maybe? But it was quiet here. But at least some of the flashbacks were starting to come together in sequence, and he remembers now that this is when he found the notebook in his pocket.
