Dylan can’t see it but in Steve’s night vision it’s about one hundred meters long from one end to the next and about eighty in width. The roof was high, and the floor below was quite a drop, like walking in on the mid level of a warehouse. But it seemed to be a very natural looking hollow in the rock, like a bubble had formed in the molten earth sometime in the distant past and cooled to form this place. Now it contains bunks and weapons racks, similar in layout to the bunker under his house, but much, much bigger.
There were about 30 beds in all, enough for an entire platoon, lined up alongside the left wall, but then extending out in rows. Crates of weapons and ammunition are stacked against the far wall, enough to arm much more than what a single platoon would need.
