And they had trusted him this far. He submits and reaches for the zipper on his hoodie. Opens it, then pulls off just the hood. His hair is messy and a little greasy from being wrapped up all day and he tries to fix it in an attempt to look less strange.
Cathy catches herself examining his skin and tries to look at his eyes but the yellow tint is interesting to her. They all still seem pretty ok so far and he reaches for the fabric around his face. As he pulls it down, first showing just his nose and mouth but then pulls it away completely, the scar on his neck where he was bitten is revealed and Cathy smiles nervously while turning to walk away. He can’t see the tears in her eyes but he knows she is upset by it. Without looking back at him she tries to talk to everyone while holding her nerve.
