Remnants of humanity

An echo of a past age bouncing around my house.

Should I refer to them as “humans”.

Seeing as they are the odd ones out now.

It isn’t so bad having some life around for a while… I suppose.

The guys are scrawny but seem ok, seem smart.

Smart enough to stay alive this long anyway.

That has some value… I suppose.

The kid looks strong, they must have made sure to keep him fed… or at least she did.

She’d kill both of them if it was called for I’m sure.
